Russells Hall Hospital’s A&E department has been named as the best performing in the country, according to new figures.
NHS England says 98.9% of patients were seen, treated, admitted or discharged within four hours of arrival in October.
It means the hospital has topped a league table for A&E Attendances and Emergency Admissions.
Paula Clark, the chief executive of the trust which runs Russells Hall, praised staff at the hospital, saying they aimed to give patients “the right care as quickly as possible”.
