Sandwell's SHAPE Youth Summer Fest is back this Saturday

Sandwell’s SHAPE Youth Summer Fest is back for 2024, with the biggest selection of free activities ever.

Visitors can join in the excitement this Saturday from 12 noon until 8pm, at Sandwell Valley Showground. The event is free to enter and will feature a wide range of fun activities for children and young people.

More than 100 services and partner organisations have joined forces with Sandwell Council’s SHAPE team to put on the festival, which has been running since 2015. Activities include sports like cricket and zorb football, plus arts and crafts, Sandwell’s new Youth Bus, a young traders’ fair and more.

Two stages will showcase live music and performances from DJs and bands and local, upcoming talent. Meanwhile, The Albion Foundation has worked with SHAPE to bring back the ever-popular Blind Dave's Colour Run.

Councillor Jackie Taylor, Sandwell Council’s Cabinet Member for Adult Services, Health and Wellbeing, said: “I would encourage children, young people and their families to come along for a fabulous day filled with fun activities and lots of live performances.

"It’s a great opportunity to find out about services on offer and pick up health and wellbeing advice too. I would like to remind our young people that they are the future and that we are investing in them, their health and wellbeing for them to have a positive future.”

The SHAPE Programme organises events and opportunities throughout the year for children and young people to engage in positive activities.
