Dudley Zoo's loveable Bornean orangutan, Sprout, woke up to a pile of presents this morning to celebrate her special day!
Upper Primates keepers left the wrapped gifts outside for the birthday girl to discover and she was straight over, unwrapping the paper to get to the tasty treats hidden inside. Keeper Sian-Leigh Simner, said:
“We filled boxes with some of Sprout’s favourite foods, including seeds, primate pellets, tamarin pods and vegetables, which we wrapped in children’s colourful wrapping paper.
“As soon as she spotted them she was straight over and began unwrapping them one-by-one, she even gave mum, Jazz, one to open, but made sure she kept the bigger boxes for herself!”
Zoo bosses are asking people to help celebrate Sprout’s birthday by making a donation to the orangutan enclosure appeal.
