There’s still time to sign up to learn lifesaving skills with a nationally recognised training course.
Dudley Council is offering the course at Crystal Leisure Centre, Stourbridge next month. The Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS) is running the lifeguard course, which can pave the way for a new career or just equip people with essential skills.
The training sessions run on Friday November 10 and 17, 7.30am - 4pm, Saturday November 11 and 18, noon - 9pm, Sunday November 12 and 19, noon - 8.30pm, with the exams taking place at 5pm on Sunday November 19.
People will receive a course manual and special tuition. Those who complete the course successfully will get an official lifeguard qualification and certificate.
The course is open to people 16 and over who will be expected to take a pre-arranged swimming test.
It costs £245 and spaces must be pre-booked with a £50 deposit required to secure a place. The remaining balance is to be paid before the course starts.
