Superstar DJ, Woody Cook will be blasting out dance anthems and club classics as the sun sets across Himley’s beautiful lake this summer.
Woody, who’s the son of DJ Norman Cook (aka Fat Boy Slim) and presenter Zoe Ball, is the first big name confirmed for the eagerly-awaited event on Saturday July 15.
Dance Anthems and Club Classics runs from 3pm to 10pm and Woody will be joined by local DJs, Stuart Ojelay and Andy Gulch, with more big names to be added to the line-up in the coming weeks.
First release tickets are now on sale, with dance fans urged to snap them up to secure the best price.
The event is part of a weekend of fun at Himley, with the big Black Country Weekender also featuring the return of Musicom on Sunday July 16.
It is on from 12 noon to 8pm and will feature a number of top tribute bands on the main stage to the likes of Madonna, Coldplay, Harry Styles, ELO and the Eagles.
Also confirmed is Let’s Rock The 70s – a tribute band bringing all the decade’s greatest hits from the likes of Queen, Status Quo, Elton John, David Bowie and loads more.
There will also be a comedy tent, funfair, food and drink stalls, street entertainment and performances from local bands and musicians. Councillor Shaun Keasey, cabinet member for commercialisation and human resources, said:
“We are delighted to have secured Woody Cook, one of the most sought after DJs on the scene, as part of our line-up for the club classics night in July.
“Stuart Ojelay was fantastic last year and the highlight for many so we’re really pleased to get him back, and we are looking forward to welcoming Andy Gulch for the first time too.
“We’ve got more big names to announce in the coming weeks, so I would urge people to get their tickets now for what will be an unmissable night.”
Harry Jones Company, Fieldings Auctioneers, Jewson and Halesowen College sponsor the weekend.
