Tots will have a spring in their step when they come along to fun and friendly under 5s trampolining sessions at a borough leisure centre.
The Dudley Council-run Crystal Leisure Centre, Bell Street, Stourbridge, offers weekly trampolining sessions for children aged from two-and-a-half up to five. A qualified coach teaches children picture of children jumping at their Junior activities at Crystal Leisure Centre artworkown pace in a relaxed and friendly environment on full size trampolines.
Children learn basic moves including seat drops, tuck jumps and straddle jumps as well as how to bounce safely and get on and off the trampoline.
Turn up and try sessions are held every Monday during term time from 9.30am to 10.30am. There is no need to book in advance. Sessions are also held on Fridays from 1.45 to 2.45pm but these must be booked in advance. Councillor Keiran Casey, cabinet member for regeneration and enterprise, said:
"This is a great way to get young children active and to try out an activity that’s really popular in a safe and controlled environment. With sessions available at the centre for older children too, this is a real opportunity to get children interested at a very young age where then can go on to develop their skills.
"Who knows, we may even have a future champion in our midst.”
Sessions run during term time and parents or carers must stay with their child at all times. Monday’s drop in sessions cost £5.10 per child per session. The Friday sessions must be booked in advance and also costs £5.10.
