John R Walker previously voted "Britain's Most Prolific TV Extra has been a film and TV extra for 15 years. He’s written a series of books about his experiences on the set of some of Britain's most exciting TV crime shows and soaps as well as extensive experience in Hollywood.
He’ll be talking about his career and his range of books at a free event at Dudley Library on Thursday 2 May. It’s 6.45pm for a 7pm start and tickets can be booked on 01384 815560.
His crime and detective CV encompasses Life on Mars, Ashes to Ashes, Midsomer Murders, Sherlock, Endeavour, Line of Duty, Father Brown, Scott & Bailey and DCI Banks.
Soap appearances include Emmerdale, Holby, Coronation Street, Doctors, Waterloo Road and Hollyoaks. He’s also worked on Doctor Who, Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures. Stephanie Rhoden, Dudley partnership manager at GLL, said:

John’s film work includes The Woman in Black, Sherlock Holmes, Captain America, Hugo and many more.
He also works as an assistant director for the BBC and independent production companies. He recently created, produced and directed Amityville Theater, the 13th film to hold the title Amityville.
It was made in two continents for under £30,000 and released worldwide in cinemas and on DVD and Blu ray. John’s book, The Making of Amityville Theater: Making of an Indie film, chronicles the process from idea to finished film and beyond.
John will be signing copies of his books after the talk.
