Two people have admitted possessing tasers and CS spray after police found the weapons in their homes as they carried out search warrants.
Craig Totney, aged 39, from Bournebrook Crescent, Halesowen and Ruth Hollingsworth, aged 32, from Cecil Road, Selly Park, pleaded guilty to the offences at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Tuesday.
A taser and CS spray were found when police searched Totney’s home on 13th November last year and officers found a taser disguised as a torch at Hollingsworth’s address which was searched on the same day.
Totney had supplied the torch taser to Hollingsworth for her protection. He admitted buying the taser off the internet and in police interview admitted he was surprised it had got through customs. He claimed he knew it was illegal to have the taser “on the street" but he thought he could legitimately keep it at his home.
Both admitted possessing the firearms and Totney also admitted a charge of transferring the taser.
The pair are due to be sentenced on 1st April.
