A walker who slipped and suffered a serious leg injury in Pedmore, had to be rescued by paramedics using a special stretcher.

Emergency services were called to a public footpath off Pedmore Lane, near to St Peters Church, at around 10.15 yesterday morning.

They found the woman around 100 metres from the road on a narrow, muddy path. She was treated at the scene and taken to Russells Hall Hospital.
