World Mental Health marked day at Oldbury Library

A special Mental Health Day will be held at Oldbury library to help people get more insight into the advice available to local families.

The event, being held tomorrow (Wednesday) between 11am and 3pm is part of the Library Service World Mental Health Day.

The day will include an interactive workshop on 'Beating the Blues' by Dr Neeti Gupta to give advice on how people can cope with depression. There will also be a session on stress awareness and on information of how to seeking reliable health information on the internet. Councillor Syeda Khatun, deputy leader of Sandwell Council, said:

"This is a wonderful opportunity for people to find out more about mental health issues. I would urge anyone who needs to seek information to get along to these interesting range of advice sessions"

The programme for the day is as follows:

11.30am: Beating the Blues by Dr Neeti Gupta - an interactive workshop on how to cope with depression (this workshop will be repeated at 12.30pm).
2:00pm: Stress awareness run by Kaleidoscope Plus (this will be two thirty minute sessions)
11am - 3pm: Drop-in sessions on 'Finding reliable health information' on the internet.

There will also be an opportunity to meet other mental health organisations and find out what services they can offer. Free light refreshments will be available.
