Puk It Up (The Christmas Kazoo Song)
Q. What do you get when you add a group of music lovers, December 25th and a French Horn?
A: A brand new Christmas single for the Black Country!
The band ‘Bees Wi' Yedairkes’ is made up of various presenters, producers and technical staff from both Black Country Radio and Black Country Xtra.
Christine Edwards and Phil Mathews had the idea of recording a song to take on Slade (no, really!) and bid for Christmas Number One.
Jay Adkins heard a whiff of chart domination and dropped a text to Billy and his Busking for Charity group and the rest, as they say…is history!
Both radio stations - Black Country Radio and Black Country Xtra - are rooted in the Black Country, but have to continually work to raise funds in order to support the work they do in the community. The song, and accompanying poem, are just one way of doing this with every penny from sales helping us to help others.
You can download the tracks using the link below or, if you wish to buy a CD copy, it will be available at the brand new Black Country Hub (adjacent to Next in the Merry Hill Centre).very soon!
